WHB has a 20% equity interest in Genting Sanyen Power Sdn Bhd (GSP), an independent power producer. GSP is the owner and operator of a 720 MW co-generation power plant at Kuala Langat, Selangor, which began operations under the full combined cycle in April 1996.

The net generating capacity and electrical energy is sold to Tenaga Nasional Berhad under a 21-year Power Purchase Agreement.

WHB's stake in GSP provides the Group with a steady source of recurring revenue, which generated a pre-tax profit of RM56.3 million in 2003. The year under review also marked the first gross dividend, amounting to RM94.4 million received from GSP. This has contributed towards a stronger financial performance for the WHB Group.
