JERAM WASTE-TO-ENERGY 1 SUCCESSFULLY ACHIEVES COMMERCIAL OPERATION DATE


KUALA SELANGOR, 13 May 2026 — Worldwide Holdings Berhad proudly marked the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of Jeram Waste-to-Energy (WTE) 1, the largest waste-to-energy facility in Malaysia.

Developed in collaboration with Shanghai Electric Power Generation Sdn Bhd, the facility is capable of processing up to 1,500 tonnes of solid waste daily while generating 26MW of renewable energy. The project supports Selangor’s efforts towards cleaner energy production and more sustainable waste management practices.

The successful completion of Jeram WTE 1 reflects 943 days of dedication, careful planning, and close collaboration between local expertise and international technological partners. Beyond serving as major infrastructure, the facility represents an important step towards reducing dependence on conventional landfill methods while supporting the circular economy agenda.

This milestone also strengthens Worldwide Holdings Berhad’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development and environmental responsibility. Looking ahead, the Group remains focused on the progress of Jeram WTE 2, which is targeted for completion by the end of the year.
